How Do I Get Off the US Donor List?
Sadly, this may not be enough
1. Remove your consent to donate at your state department of motor vehicles, and in any other states where you may have registered
2. Remove you name from the national donor registry

The 2006 update to the Uniform Anatomical Gift Act (UAGA) now mandates that individuals who refuse to donate must explicitly state so. According to the Organ Donation Alliance:​​​​​​​​​​​
"If family is not 'reasonably available', that is to say, able to be contacted by an organ procurement organization without undue effort and willing and capable to act in a timely manner consistent with existing medical criteria necessary for making an anatomical gift, and there is no documented evidence of the decedent's choice not to donate; the administrator of the hospital 'shall make an anatomical gift of the decedent's body or part.'" (UAGA C.26.6-85)
Because of the UAGA, you must also document your REFUSAL to donate in addition to removing your name from donor lists.

"The problem with their process is that you actually have to register to unregister! When I entered my name, I received an automated email thanking me for becoming an organ donor, and even though I went through the process of unregistering, I received no confirmation of that. ​So, I emailed
donatelifeamerica@donatelife.net and asked for written confirmation that I was off the donor list. They needed my name, birthdate, gender, state of residence, and where I thought I may have registered (DMV, etc.) It took a few days but they emailed me back saying I was not a donor, and they also were kind enough to include a screenshot of their records coming up empty for further confirmation."
